Walayar check Post Help Centre
Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry commenced a help centre in Walayar in 2006 to help the members in clearing detained consignments at the Check-Post , thus saving valuable time and money . An agreement has been executed with the DP World and under the new agreement the facilitation centre would operate 24x7 providing necessary assistance to all Exim traffic moving through the Check-post to and from the ICTT at Vallarpadam Similarly import containers going out from the terminal to outside the State of Kerala and routed through Walayar Check Post. The prior intimation to the terminal would be sent to the Walayar Check Post Help Centre and necessary assistance provide by the Help Centre. . The facilitation centre is equipped with all the communication facilities and manpower required to ensure prompt assistance and minimal time wastage. Members may also note that it t would also be a co-ordination centre for the terminal operator to know the inflow of containers to the terminal from the hinterland well in advance of the actual arrival of the container at the ICTT. The new 24 hours operation has commenced with effect from July 2011.
